Look out Hadrian, the Pictish Roadshow are in town. Macrocosmica ARE the Scottish Sonic Youth, but much funnier. The blonde Dundonian bassist gives good Kim, even doing one of the latter's trademark eerie little girl talkovers while the guitarists supply the correct two-string modulation spookiness. The red-haired guitarist is probably the Thurston of the group but called Brendan; he takes a leaf out of Arab Strap's (dirty) book by reading selected passages for a soft porn mag over 'Eraserhead' soundtrack effects while wearing a woman's shiny gold top that buttons under the crotch. The bassist, despite doubtless being the only female on the tour bus is unfazed by such scuzziness and decides to rename the band Macrojizmica while the all-round rowdy good cheer continues into the last song as off they surf on a wave of feedback. Caledonian frenzy!
So how will Arab Strap follow this? [....]
