MACROSOSMICA. Uno de nuestros cuartetos favoritos desde hace años. Caritas de inocentes ángeles, gafas oscuras antifocos, pantalones de pitillo y no rodados, por tanto, no ex exterior la ropa interior, las fantásticas TAO made in USA calzan, suben al escenario con una pierna primero y luego la otra sin apoyar las manos. A veces beben, otras no. Tienen pelo. Están sin contrato. ¡¡¡Cómo!!! Están sin contrato. Entonces los demás ... ¿Sois capaces de imaginar a Sonic Youth sin contrato con nadie? Sonic Youth ha editato su decimosexto LP, éstos están en la decimosexta parte de su edición (porque has dicho la decimosexta ...). Escribí sobre Sonic Youth (ver crónica de T in the Park) que había sido el mejor de los conciertos del verano, pues, hoy he presenciado otro que está al mismo nivel. Quinta dimensión. Con Macrocosmica me suele suceder. Ellos son así. "ínclitas razas ubérrimas" desafían al Dios de la sonoridad Macrocosmica, pero los versos del poeta no alcanzan la grandeza tiránica de éstos. Habrá que postrarse y lo hacemos con gusto. Brendan O'Hare, otrora batería de Teenage Fanclub (en los tiempos de su LP A Catholic Education), Mogwai (LP Young Team) o Telstar Ponies, es el líder del grupo. Destila modestia por todas partes, la modestia de los genios, superiores a todo y, sin embargo, sin darse importancia porque el talento es consustancial a su persona, ha optado por ser genio simplemente. En su mano está y lo deja patente. ¡Que caminos tan dispares tenían (respecto a Teenage Fanclub)! Pero qué dos monumentos sonoros nos han quedado. Actualmente son un duo: Brendan O'Hare (V,G) y su mujer Cerwyss O'Hare (B, V) arropados por los miembros, guitarra y batería, de Bangtwister, el resultado es una banda de cine. Comenzaron en 1996 y desde entonces son una de esas formaciones que en Escocia sientan cátedra, alabados y admirados por los demás grupos escoceses y, aún así, todavía podemos verlos por las salas de aquí sin agobios y en un concierto para unsigned bands. Si preguntas a cualquier grupo de allí, el primer nombre que sale es el de Macrocosmica. Unanimidad absoluta a la cual me uno. El grupo ha pasado por 3 fases en donde se han ido dando cita miembros como: Gavin Laird (V, G) excompañero de Brendan en T. Ponies. y Russell McEwan (D) ex Cylinder y actualmente líder de Black sun machine. Sus grabaciones importantes son: el MLP Ad Astra (God Bless Records 97), el EP Space Geek (God Bless Records 98) y una 3 track promo (00), todo autofinanciado. Además, en 1998 graban una Peel session y en el 2000 actúan en el T in the Park. Lo de estos señores no se puede contar con palabras. El que quiera que pruebe a verlos en directo y si es músico que vaya con la libretilla para apuntar. El líder de POST DILUVIAN (también han grabado con Steve Albini) está allí en primera fila y no se le caen ni los anillos ni la baba, porque hay formas inteligentes, elegantes y humildes de reconocer lo evidente cuando se sabe apreciar. ¿Estamos en Edimburgo? ¡Qué suerte!
